MORE THAN JUST AN ACTIVITY. A LIFE SKILL.

Help Your Child Be Stronger, Smarter & More Resilient.

Jiu Jitsu challenges kids in the best way possible. On the mats, kids discover how to push through challenges, respect others, and think their way out of problems.

Off the mats, they carry that same grit and focus into everything they do. Jiu Jitsu isn’t just about learning moves — it’s about becoming tougher inside and out.

Train as Much as You Want

Kids can come to class Monday through Friday with no restrictions. The more they’re on the mats, the faster they progress and the more fun they have.

A Better Alternative to Screen Time

Instead of sitting at home playing video games, kids burn off energy, stay active, and challenge themselves on the mats. Jiu jitsu keeps them engaged in a way that’s fun, social, and healthy.

Confidence That Lasts a Lifetime

Jiu jitsu teaches more than self-defense, it builds confidence, discipline, and focus that carry over into school, friendships, and everyday life.

GROWING UP, LEVELING UP.

Not Just a Sport, A Lifelong Advantage

Most sports that kids try have an expiration date. Jiu Jitsu is different. It grows with your child, teaching balance and body awareness at a young age, discipline and focus in their middle years, and confidence and problem-solving as teens.

Every stage brings new skills to master and new challenges to overcome. No matter their age, there’s always another level to reach.

"Dominic Gonzalez is a phenomenal coach and has something to offer anyone interested in Brazilian Jujitsu from beginner to advanced. My BJJ journey started at the age of 35 (don’t let age stop you from trying BJJ) with Dom years ago with me having no prior experience in combat sports and little natural ability. Something that started because I thought it might be cool to get a little exercise and learn a couple things turned into what I hope is a lifelong journey in an exceptionally interesting sport. If he can teach me he can teach anyone."

"Professor Dom is a great teacher, he loves Jiu-Jitsu and teaches in a manner that emanates both his joy and detailed understanding of the sport. He has a disarming and calming approach to his teaching style. You can tell that he has a deep understanding as he will demonstrate examples of various outcomes depending on certain moves and responses with what was being taught."

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some of the questions we're often asked. Still have more questions? Give us a call at (813) 500-1978 or book an intro class to see what classes are like.

Yes. Safety is our top priority. Kids train in a controlled environment with experienced coaches who teach technique first, not strength or aggression. The result is fun, safe training that builds confidence while minimizing risk.

We welcome kids as young as 3. At that age, classes focus on movement, coordination, and basic skills. As they get older, training expands into more advanced techniques, self-defense, and competition prep.

Not at all. Jiu Jitsu meets kids where they are. Whether your child is already active or just starting out, training builds coordination, strength, and confidence step by step.

Unlike some schools that limit attendance, we offer unlimited classes Monday through Friday. Your child can train as often as they want, giving them more chances to grow, progress, and have fun.

Yes. Jiu Jitsu naturally teaches focus, patience, and respect.  Parents often tell us they see improvements in school, at home, and in how their child handles challenges.

Competition is optional. Some kids love testing themselves at tournaments, others prefer training just for fun, fitness, and self-defense. We support both paths equally.

No uniform is required to start. Just bring comfortable athletic clothes (t-shirt and shorts or leggings). Once your child decides to stick with it, we’ll guide you on the best gear for no-gi training.

Kids build real confidence by solving problems on the mat. Not by memorizing moves, but by learning they can stay calm, adapt, and succeed against resistance. That sense of accomplishment carries into school, sports, and everyday life.
